NorthWest Arkansas needs a hackerspace.

NorthWest Arkansas needs a hackerspace. There have been at least 2 attempts in the past and they both appear to have died on the vine.  This is Take 3.
I would like to build Take 3 in Benton County instead of in Fayetteville.  This is due to the fact that there are a large number of professionals who would like to have a hackerspace, but don't want to travel too far to go.
What I want in a Hacker/maker space.

  1. The clubhouse for an active hacker/maker club.
  2. Somewhat centrally located near I-540 at or north of exit 78 (Monroe Ave. Lowell)
  3. Reasonable monthly fees with a sliding scale based on willingness to volunteer time towards club maintenance and fundraising activities.
  4. Active in the community.
  5. Safe and fully insured.
  6. Classes.
  7. Well equipped shop.
    1. Laser cutter
    2. Full sheet CNC router/plasma cutter.
    3. MIG welder
    4. Wood working tools.
    5. Additional space for more based on the requirements of the group.
If you would like to see a hacker or maker space in Northwest Arkansas, then join the cause by following this blog or joining the Facebook group.
